چکیده

Detergent powders are sometimes processed into compact tablets for cleaning purposes based on the advantage of dosage, minimised dusting and packaging its offers over their powder counterpart. The flow-ability greatly influences handling. The particle size within the powder plays a key role on handling, flow-ability and the strength of the produced compact detergent tablet. The Ariel powder used in this study was separated into different size ranges via sieving; thereafter flowability, compression and compaction were carried out. The compressibility of the powder under 2 KN compaction force was analysed using Heckel equation. It was found that at the same compaction pressure, smaller size particle powders formed compact of greater tensile strength than larger particle. However, the powder with size range of 125-180 μm showed higher flowability compared to other size range.

Synthesis and characterisation of advanced ball-milled Al-Al2O3 nanocom- posites for selective laser melting

Selective laser melting (SLM) offers significant potential for the manufacture of the advanced complex-shaped aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) used in the aerospace and automotive domains. Previous studies have indicated that advanced composite powders suitable for SLM include spherical powders with homogeneous reinforcement distribution, a particle size of less than 100 μm and good flowabili...

Effects of Rare Earth Elements on Properties of Ni-Base Superalloy Powders and Coatings

NiCrMoY alloy powders were prepared using inert gas atomization by incorporation of rare earth elements, such as Mo, Nb, and Y into Ni60A powders, the coatings were sprayed by oxy-acetylene flame spray and then remelted with high-frequency induction. The morphologies, hollow particle ratio, particle-size distribution, apparent density, flowability, and the oxygen content of the NiCrMoY alloy po...

Characterization and Phase Transformation of Spherical YSZ Powders Fabricated Via air Plasma Spray Method

Air plasma spray (APS) process is used to produce high density and flowability spherical powders. Phase transformation that occurred in this process isn’t well known. In this paper, the YSZ powders have been sprayed in water to investigate the morphology changes and phase transformations via air plasma spray (APS) method. Phase analysis of powders was examined by XRD and the crystallite size an...

Investigation of the Effect of Co-crystal Habit on Dissolution, Flowability and Tabletability

D. R. Serrano Lopez, P. O'Connell, A. M. Healy Trinity College Dublin Purpose Sulfadimide (SDM) is a poorly-soluble anti-infective agent. Co-crystallization with suitable coformers, such as 4aminosalicylic acid (4ASA), combined with changes in the crystal habit, can favourably alter its physicochemical properties. The aim was to engineer SDM: 4ASA cocrystals with different habits and investigat...
